BYZANTINE: New Album To Have 'More Varied Atmosphere'
January 15, 2005West Virginia-based "tech-metal" band BYZANTINE have posted the following update on the songwriting sessions for their sophomore album, "...And They Shall Take Up Serpents", tentatively due in May via Prosthetic Records:
"We are about halfway through our month-long rehearsals for the upcoming album. Things are going really well. We have about seven of the 10 songs worked up as a band.
"Some of these songs are much faster and technical than anything on 'The Fundamental Component' [2004], and some of the songs have a quite rockin' feel to it. So this album is sure to have a more varied atmosphere to it. So if you are looking for an album that is similar throughout, you might be really disappointed!
"I [guitarist/vocalist Chris Ojeda] have eight songs done lyrically. We have all the song titles ready to go as well. We have about two weeks until studio time and we can't freaking wait."
